Charitable Impact was created to help you create the change you want to see in the world. We’re a public foundation that operates as a donor-advised fund. In short, this means you can manage your charitable giving from a single account, which we call the Impact Account.

Our Impact Account comes with powerful tools that help you plan the impact you want to make, and find and give to your favourite charities all from one place. We also connect you to a wider giving community by making it easier to give with friends, family, and others who care about the same things you do.

Along the way, our team is here to offer support and help you achieve your giving goals, whatever they might be.

We’re here for you no matter what causes you choose to support, how much you give, or how experienced you are with charitable giving.

Where we started, where we're going

We were founded in Vancouver, Canada in 2011 by John Bromley. It all started with the goal of making it easier for people to come together to change the world, and it led to developing resources for donors that support them on their giving journey.

Today, our talented team has grown to include engineers, designers, operations staff, and other dedicated team members who are focused on helping people create the change they want to see in the world.

We know that giving can and should be an enjoyable, uplifting, and personally meaningful experience. We see a future where this is the norm, not the exception. A future where everyone regularly makes an impact on the things that matter most to them as part of going about their daily life.

Our Founder

John Bromley grew up with charity at the core of his family’s values. He started his career in corporate finance working with PwC and RBC Capital Markets, and then went to work with world-renowned experts in charity law.

After developing an in-depth understanding of the complex world underpinning the charity sector, John recognized a need to make giving more accessible and more effective. He saw that while wanting to help others comes naturally, knowing how to make a difference through charitable giving does not.

With that in mind, John went on to launch Charitable Impact. Its mission? Nurture the generosity within each person, and bring the resources for creating change in the world to everyone.

To date, Charitable Impact has facilitated more than $0 billion in donations and is helping more and more people build the brighter future they imagine.
